Payment release

Customer money is
not released too early.

When a customer pays through Securatrade, the money is tracked against the job agreement. Stripe handles the payment processing, and releases follow the agreed milestone process.

🏦
Payment handled through Stripe. The job file records the amount paid, the milestones and the release status.
🔐
No early access. The trade cannot receive a milestone payment until the release conditions for that stage are met.
⏱️
48-hour review window. The customer has time to approve the release or raise a concern with details.
⚖️
Concern route. If something is not right, the release is paused while the job record and evidence are reviewed.
🔒
Payment recorded on the job
The customer payment, milestones and release status are kept with the job record.
Release follows the agreement
Payment release is tied to the milestone process the customer accepted.
📋
Written scope on record
Every job has a written agreement. Inclusions, exclusions and timings are stored on the platform.
⚖️
Concerns can be reviewed
If there is a disagreement, the release can be paused while the job record is reviewed.

UK-based platform · Payments handled by Stripe
Securatrade is built for UK trades and customers. Customer payments are handled through Stripe, with milestone release tracking managed through the Securatrade job file.

Clear pricing before the customer pays.

Trades join free. The customer protection fee is added on top of the trade's quote, so the trade receives the agreed job value.

📅
Instalments / buy now, pay later
Customer chooses to spread payment using a finance or BNPL option. Higher fee reflects financing cost.

Milestones do not increase the fee. You can split a job into agreed stages and still use the standard 6.5% rate when the customer pays in full. The higher fee only applies when the customer's payment method is instalments or BNPL.

A clear route if something needs reviewing.

When the agreement is written down, most issues are easier to sort. If a concern is raised, the release is paused while the job record is reviewed.

A concern is raised
A customer can raise a concern from the dashboard within the review window. Payment for that milestone is paused while the concern is reviewed.
🔍
Both sides give their account
Securatrade reviews the agreed scope, messages, photos and both parties' notes. The starting point is the job agreement both sides accepted.
Next steps are recorded
The next step is based on the job record and the evidence supplied, in line with the platform terms and payment rules.
🛡️

"That wasn't in the quote"

It is one of the most common problems in trade work. With Securatrade, the quote, scope, inclusions and exclusions are agreed in writing before the job starts, so both sides can refer back to the same record.

The problems trades keep telling us about.

We're in early onboarding, so these are illustrative scenarios rather than customer reviews. They are based on common payment and scope issues raised by UK trades.

A bathroom refit can go well on site and still end badly if the final balance is chased for weeks. Having the customer's payment committed before work starts would remove a lot of that awkwardness.

A written agreement is not about distrusting the customer. It gives both sides a sensible structure: what is included, what is not, and when each stage can be paid.

On larger jobs, materials can be a serious cash-flow problem. A materials milestone gives the trade and customer a clear way to record what is needed and when release can be requested.
